Therapy (Individual, Couples, Group)

Alka offers individual, couples, and group therapy. She views individual therapy as a place to summon the courage to open your mind and reorganize everything accumulated in it. Drawing from her training in DBT, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing through a person-centered lens, Alka helps people better understand themselves, their past experiences, and step into who they truly are. She believes strongly in forming authentic relationships that elicit each person’s own intrinsic motivation for lasting change, helping them live a life that aligns with their values.

Alka works with couples to support them in utilizing skills-based strategies to strengthen, build, or rebuild a relationship that reflects their shared wants and needs. Her approach combines practical, present-day skills with history-based insight, helping partners better understand patterns, improve communication, and create a foundation for the kind of life they want to build. Through this process, couples gain clarity about what it means to live well together and how to move forward in ways that feel authentic and sustainable.

Alka also runs DBT skills groups, teaching skills to facilitate improved skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Executive Functioning Coaching

Alka provides executive functioning coaching for individuals ages 12 and older. With experience both as a therapist and as an executive functioning coach, she brings a unique perspective to helping clients strengthen planning, organization, and follow-through. Her work is especially beneficial for those who are neurodivergent, as she understands the emotional and identity-based layers that can underlie executive functioning challenges. Coaching with Alka combines practical strategies with deeper insight, supporting clients in moving toward goals while also honoring where they are right now.

Clinical Supervision

Alka offers clinical supervision for therapists seeking guidance and support in their professional growth. As a licensed counselor, she provides a space to process clinical work, sharpen skills, and deepen self-awareness. Alka believes supervision should mirror the therapeutic balance of support and challenge, helping clinicians feel confident, competent, and aligned with their authentic selves in practice.

Alka also offers specialized trainings and consultations to help clinicians strengthen their group facilitation skills and address challenges with engagement and retention.
